I am also using the ergo 93 on one of my rifles. It is on the heavier side compared to some others, but it's a solid stock.

I personally really like the magpul str. The wide cheek weld is awesome. My rifle (20 inch slim railed upper with scope) is just heavy overall so I cant judge the weight and balance of it for a 16 inch build but I do recommend it.

Just picked up the Magpul ACS-L for my rifle. Balances well with my 18" Noveske barrel.

Well, not exactly.... I just assembled a sub 7lb rifle......and that can't happen without considering each part.

I was thinking of building an 18" barrel AR. I have seen them both in person, but wanted to get feedback from people who actually used them.

Thanks for all the replies and input.

It's one thing if your purpose is to build sub-7lb gun...it's another to build a more common rifle with correct parts for the individual user...the next guy may want a 9lb...mine is 12lb. If that what we want...it's all relative.

Not an AR but I put the GLR16 on my wife's SU16CA and am pretty happy with it. The adjustable cheek riser allows easily changing from the EOTech to irons if needed. The battery storage also is nice since the EOTech is only as good as it's power supply.

Both are good stocks. Whether they are good with your particular rifle/upper is the issue you should be paying attention to.

With lighter rifles/uppers, they can change the balance and handing in a negative way. With heavier ones, they can help balance out the nose-heaviness and improve handling and feel.
