    Craftsmanship: Colt or LWRC

I've been reading a lot about how awesomely made Colts are; they're government issue. That means they are first rate, right? Well, I was in the military and government issue wasn't always top notch.

Anyway, in terms of craftsmanship, does LWRC make a better carbine than Colt?

      This will end well.

OP do you spend a lot of time in other forums here besides Centerfire rifles?

LWRC. All the way. Milspec is functional, but can be rough looking. Ever looked at military Guns up close? Toll marks here and there, gaps between lower and uppers

That's my guess; thank you for your advice, Blue.

I would say yes the LWRC rifles are made to a higher standard than traditional Colt rifles. Piston vs. DI is a whole 'nother story!

lwrc lowers (except for the IC and repr series) are the same as a Colt lower

Sorry, I didn't realize this was such a contentious subject!

It's like comparing a Dodge charger to a Dodge Viper. Both Go when you need em to.

At least the colt is built for what its designed for. I don't know of many rifles besides an AR conversion that uses a piston to cycle that lack rails for the carrier to ride on.

The LWRC IC's have such tight tolerances they don't allow you to use Pmags.
