    Possible to darken crest on my opap?

    The crest on mine is very light, really not visible unless close up, is there a way to darken it so it looks like this?

    My stock

    What I want it to look like

    I'm not sure how you would do that with wood, but the most common ways of doing it on metal/plastic is a with a crayon or fingernail polish. I used the fingernail polish method on my Glock 19 slide a long time ago, it looks the same as when I first did it.

    Here is a video of how I color filled my Glock slide;

    Again, not sure how well these methods will work with wood, but my other suggestion would be a small model type paint brush and maybe some paint or even wood stain.

        Staining should bring it out.

          Staining will work as long as the wood has no finish. In other words bare wood. You may want to contact a woodworker in your area.

              A penetrating stain should do the trick. Try a light colored stain that is close in color to the stock and wipe it off the rest of the stock right away.

                        Watsco Danish oil from Home Depot. Pick your color, Coat the wood, sand with wet or dry sandpaper. First coat get stock wet with watsco and sand with 220 grit and keep wet with brush for 30 minutes then let dry, next coat get wet with watsco and sand with 320 grit keep wet for 30 minutes with brush then let dry, last coat repeat with 400 grit keep wet for 30 minutes and wipe lightly with a lint free cloth. Crest will stand out as the oil will be thicker in the crest and the stock will come out feeling like a factory hunting rifle...smooth. If you do all the furniture it will match and make the rifle much nicer looking.

                            use a q-tip with a dark stain..think minwax gunstock and dip only the recessed places and wipe quickly those blotches that have missed their mark..
