    They aren't going to destroy your rifle unless you never clean it after use. It's literally carbon going down your barrel without a bullet. Nothing that doesn't already happen.

    You can fire like normal with one of these attached too.

      they will launch a section of cleaning rod, thru a tree 4 inches thick... (bored, and did it in the field, when I was in the service)

            Launching golf balls is good clean fun. Even more fun when your shooting buddy's daughter and SO amuse themselves by drawing funny faces on the golf balls before they're launched.

                Good luck hitting a squirrel with one unless it's stupid enough to stand in front of the muzzle. The golf balls tend to curve somewhat, given that the launcher is smoothbore and there's plenty of windage between the ball and bore sometimes. Oh, and if you hit something solid that's too close... FORE! You could pull a Gerald Ford on yourself.
