I owned one for a while, and actually shot it quite a bit. So I will offer my .02 rather than rehash what I read on some other thread:

It is a good rifle and it is well built. The rail is supposedly a rebranded UTG, but it felt sturdy. The rifle functioned 100%. The windage adjustable rear sight is awesome.

What I did not like about it was that it was extremely picky with magazines. Tapco mags did not even come close to fitting. Since they fit fine in my other AK's I wasn't going to shave down mags just for one rifle.

Even old milsurp steel mags would fit maybe 1-2 out of every 5 mags. Once the magazines were forced in to the point of locking, it was effing impossible to remove them without tearing your hand up forcing the lever back to release the mag.

(This was a featureless rifle with a Solar Tactical grip.) With a maglock it would be 100X worse. If you ever had to use it to defend yourself plan on throwing it down and running after that 10th round because you won't be able to dump the mag or jam a new one in.

Sounds like your mag well was not opened up properly. Good to know century isnt the only one that screws that up

Didn't seem to be a problem for me. Maybe you forgot it was a left hand thread.

The benefits of chopping and pinning doesn't seem to be worth the cost. Randal's quote for that kind of work is almost $300. That's a lot for just 2in of barrel length.

The bad, cugir is not known for having a spectacular fit and finish. However... its an AK.

Also, the muzzle device is a bit over the top, the rails while functional are heavy and not the greatest and for the most part unless you plan to shoot an AK "target style" it does not need a longer stock.
I ditched everything I can unbolt from the gun. Despite the hate for those items here in this thread, they all sold quickly and easily in the FS forum.

Had a Draco which I liked with the exception that is wasn't quite usable due to the lack of a stock and the shorter barrel. The M10 762 is basically a rifle version of it which is more usable.

That flashider had some crazy strong locktite on it. My local guy was going to charge between 125-150$ to chop and re pin the barrel.

I sure hope he is it doing it the legal way. (if your talking about cutting it to 14.5 or so and pinning a brake).

Can't you take a hair dryer to it and just take it off yourself?

                    Tap hammer also helps.

I already have the tuning fork off and installed a pws brake. It was not a hair dryer and tap hammer job. The price quoted to me was for chopping, threading and fully legal weld and pin. I was hesitant to go for the chop and pin since I thought 125$ was a lot. Guess it's a good deal. Anyone know what MI quad rail this gun would take? I got the MI universal one at my house but it doesn't look like it wants to fit.

125 to pull, chop, thread, pin and reinstall an ak barrel is a very good deal.

sent from my damn tappy device...

It should use a std forearm for stamped AKs

While I don't own one, I really don't care for the shortened sight radius on them.

For those looking to change out stocks, fore-ends, etc why not just start with the Saiga for less money?
