Vltor muzzle brake/flash suppressor

I am building a 300 blk and just received my wilson barrel today. I plan on putting a ap industries tube on the front to save weight but my last thing I have to decide on is muzzle treatment. I was thinking just a A2 flash suppressor for a 308 but started looking at the Vltor muzzle brake. Anyone using one? How is the noise or is it just more of a glorified flash suppressor?
