Any word on if the Ferfrans with and without the shield are legal to use on a featurless ar? I currently run a Surefire brake on mine, and would really like something with less sound.

I have a lightweight aluminum Kineti-tech brake on my 20". It's a 3 slot brake with a screw on sleeve. Nice and light at the end of a long barrel.

Sleeve off it's a traditional brake. Sleeve on it's more like the Levang, less effective but less noise to the shooter.

I usually leave it on for the noise, unless I get a .308 next to me, then it's sleeve off for payback.

The 16" lightweight has a Troy Claymore, less weight, same with the 7.5" pistol. The Levang is the quietest of the bunch. I shoot .22LR outdoors without ear protection, not needed. Needed with .223.

I've been really happy with the Griffin Armament Flash Comp - it's great on my 5.56 guns, and the 7.62 model really tames the recoil and muzzle rise. They seem to quiet things down a lot, too - but my ears are so far gone that I can't swear by that.
Yes, 7.62 production models are expected within the next couple of weeks. The CRD fit both 5.56 and 7.62 brake mounts.

It's not a flash hider so I don't see why not.

How does the Smith Ent. Good Iron compare with the others?

                Any better and worst?

Overall the Ferfrans just looks like it would be a better performing brake than the others you tested. I really like the idea of a CRD too. I wonder if a non-proprietary clamp on CRD type part could be made.

If someone made these for the Ops 12th brakes most of the SPR guys are running, they would sell quite a few I'd imagine.

I don't know of anyone that even uses it in 3-gun competition.

Wat? That's not a Nazi insignia.
