UBR Stock/ BCM Charging Handle Clearance Issues

Just about finished with my AR build I started almost an entire year ago. Today I assembled 95% of it, however I'm having issues with my BCM Gunfighter charging handle clearing my Magpul UBR stock. Here are some pictures. You can also see some scratches from the charging handle on the lower. I have a JD machining lower and the Vltor MUR upper. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? Hoping I don't have to dremel the Gunfighter to fit over the stock...

That's interesting. My bcm clears my UBR but it's on my LMT 308. My only guess is you'll have to changing charging handles. Perhaps use the bcm latch on a different charging handle that doesn't have the added material underneath.

Using the Dremel would work but you'll have exposed/bare aluminum showing.

    Or different stock.

Personally I would either change the latch to a different handle or get the LMT tactical charging handle and sell the bcm

They do sell knock off UBR Stocks. Not saying yours is but, its weird that you have that problem.

I have the gigantic BCM ambi charging handle and I have a normal collapsible stock and I have no issues except that the handle is a pretty tight fit. The BCM charging handle is dimensionally larger than a normal one so you probably have to switch the handle out for a smaller stock one if you want to keep your stock

Your charging handle seems to be the problem.

Knock off isn't a possibility, I ordered this one new from Magpul. I guess I'll have to see what other charging handles I can get to fit this setup.

I have the Rainier Raptor CH and have a similar problem. It'll hit my UBR if I pull it just right but not really an issue for me. If anything I would just file a little off the back of the handle or a little off the stock. That's just me tho.

I'm pretty sure the newer version of that charging handle was modified to direct gas out the side like a gasbuster, maybe that's why you're having this issue.

I have some of both versions, I'm gonna compare them and see.

I have a JD lower/upper with a mod4 charging handle and CTR stock. The handle rubbed on the stock when I first built it. It did lossen up a bit after some use and I have no issues now.

My BCM CH and UBR work fine together on my AR, so not sure how this could happen. I would just file off a little bit of the underside of the CH until it clears the stock. It would hardly be noticeable if you are careful about it and shouldn't affect the performance of the CH at all.

I wasn't aware that there were two different versions. Please let me know what you find.

I have slightly the same issue. It's a UBR on a HK MR556.

They look the same on the underside, the newer version has a little more meat on the sides:

You can't really avoid scratches on the top of the receiver, but that's weird that your stock is actually taller than the lower.

My BCM ambi slightly scrapes the top of my UBR but its never hung up or caused a problem. Just leaves a dirty slip2000 streak on the top of the stock.

Thanks M16 for taking the time to check that out for me. If it was just a small clearance issue I would just take my dremel to it, but the stock is far too large for that. I guess I'll just try to see what charging handles I can find that give me proper clearance.
