BCG not return

After pulling the charging handle. The only way to get the bcg to return is hitting the return button is this normal ?

No. If I remove the magazine it returns fine after charging. I have snap caps coming in tmrw.

If your charging with an empty mag, the bolt is supposed lock on the bolt catch.

Got it, I was thinking maybe it was that piece that holds the spring and tube in the stock. But since it cycles fine with no magazine than that is probably the reason. Thanks for answering my stupid question

If you look into the ejection port when the bolt is back, then you will notice that the magazine follower (the little plastic piece above the spring) is pushing your bolt catch into the locked posistion. The follower engages the bolt catch, so that the bolt is held back when your magazine is empty (this is by design). With a loaded mag or no mag, the bolt should not lock on it's own. With an empty mag, the bolt should catch.

Watch out for discoloration on your brass deflector.

Its a sign of a serious condition thats very expensive to remedy.

Some uppers don't even have a brass deflector. Im not even sure how the rifle functions without it!!!!!!

I'm corrext though, it IS EXPENSIVE

the only known cure is to fire more and hope the color goes away.
