Should I be able to lock a loaded mag in with the bolt closed?

I have two lowers and one upper (cause I ran out of money) I used my second lower this weekend for a trip to utah cause it has a mag lock on it and it's easier to un-neuter and I couldn't get the mag to lock with the bolt closed. I have not had time to check my other lower since I got back or try other mags so I just thought I would ask.

You should be able to. sometimes you have to give it a good slap on the bottom of the mag to get it to go all the way in.

Yes, though it should be very difficult because of the spring tension. Just push really hard. If that doesnt work try removing 1 or 2 rounds.

You should be able to...

Most military weapons are designed so that a troop who has emptied his weapon can replace it with a fresh mag and load the first round. If your tolerences are anywhere close to mil-spec, it shouldn't be an issue...

Thanks guys. I thought I was supposed to be able to load the mag, I will check out both lowers and other mags this week, see if I can figure out what the problem was.
