    5.56 Beryl Archer AK Review

Hey guys I am a huge fan of 5.56x45 piston driven rifles. So when I heard about a 5.56 AKM that came off the same assembly line of NATO military service rifle, my interest was peaked. I bought the first Polish Beryl Archer I could find and did a pretty significant amount of research. Although the Beryl Archer comes from the same military plant as the Polish Military Beryl Rifle it has some significant changes some of which Royal Tiger (importer) has addressed and changed.

Non tritium front and rear sights. (although the rear has a slot for tritium)
    Non folding front sight
    Different distol grip (922r)
    Notched Safety (922r)
    Silly proprietary muzzle device. (922r)

But other than that you are getting as close to a real Beryl Rifle as you can here in the states. On the first generation for import (which mine is) You had a cheap NATO length stock 2 magazines and a cleaning kit. There was a pretty big outcry that a $1200 AK did not come with the Beryl collapsible stock or the famous Beryl Rail System (which in my opinion is the finest in the AK world). After much b****ing and complaining Royal Tiger and IO decided to include the collapsible stock and the rail system for the $1200 price tag.

In my opinion the Beryl is one of the finest rifles I own in terms of fit and finish and being chambered in 5.56 I dont have to worry so much about steel core ammo issue at the ranges I shoot or the availability of ammo.

California users beware, the traditional AKM style bullet buttons will not work with this system due to the fact that the magazine release button is about 2x bigger than a standard AK magazine release. So you will have to either shave it or just go featureless.

Beware I do use curse words, sorry

It's a great gun. Congrats. They have been making nato spec AK's in 5.56 for a while. Does yours have the 1/10 twist barrel or 1/7 ? I am big fan of the SLR 106 series , but they are banned in CA. I have a Russian AK-101 with 1/7 twist barrel. As for you BB issue. Try a Vepr 12 bb that should be big enough to cover the longer paddle.

This is the kinda person that shouldn't be building things- go store bought.

Its actually a 1/9 Twist I talk about at 11:29, I know they have other 5.56 AK's but I am a huge fan of the rail system on the Beryl.
