OK so I get that after this year its illegal to buy parts kit mags. But is it legal to own after this year? I read the law but kinda lost if it will still be legal to own. Thanks.

Conversion kits are, whatever that means.
Possession of a rebuild is not illegal nor will it be.

This may be nitpicky of me but when you say "parts kit mags" I imagine a magazine you've assembled from a parts kit. As opposed to a "magazine parts kit" which makes me picture a parts kit to rebuild/repair an existing magazine.

Rebuild possession is legal for lawful purposes without intent of rebuilding "large capacity" magazines. So I am not intending to build illegal magazines by owning rebuilds, nor I am not planning on building 10/30's out of all of them either....but if and when stupid 10 round laws get overturned, I won't have to go shopping.

Sorry if I don't say it right. So 30 RDS rebuild kits will be OK?

So. Are 10/30 RDS mags going to be banned. Or OK if I buy now?

They will not be banned. You can buy now or after Jan 1 2014.

That was a possibility at one point, but that part of the pending legislation failed.

Only a matter of time though.

If you get 10/30's, make sure you can actually use 10 rounds. Most 10/30s won't insert on a closed bolt... you have to actually make them 9/30s!
