I have always been confused by the CA named list.

The 6920 was banned by model, but it shared the same receiver as the 6940.

So in theory you could buy a 6940 and put an 6920 upper and now have an approved gun that is 100% the same as the banned by model version.

I have no idea if colt used different serial numbers on the
        6920
        6940
        6920LE

        Etc

Anyone have a reference web site?
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Serial number means nothing. Nor does the marketing name or what is on the shipping carton etc etc.
The model name as printed on the receiver is what counts.
New Colts marked as M4 are not on the list.

It's like the bottom one but has an "LE" serial number prefix and marked "Colt Defense".

Cool can't wait to get it as I have a couple colt 6920 uppers that need homes.

You should check with your LGS first, there have been posts here about people getting denied by some FFLs not understanding that they are legal and refusing to do the transfer.

You're GTG. I bought two of them within the last 4 months (online). Shipped to my FFL, took delivery 10 days later, no issues.
