    California Compliant

    Doing some research, I've learned i can get such rifles as in AR15's and such in CA as long as i meet the restrictions. For example, semi auto and 10 round max capacity fixed mag. Wut about guns such as MP5 N, or other originally produced as "Sub Machine" guns???

      Fixed it for ya!

      Just so you know MP5, if you can find one for sale in the "free" states you will be paying a serious premium. I have seen MP5's going for upwards of $10,000 Your best bet is a GSG-5 if you want a "MP5"

      Here is one for a deal at $18,500.00

          Ok, just a heads up, and seriously no offense here. Writing your postings in the same way that you speak to your friends will result in fewer people taking your post seriously or responding to you. I'm not trying to be mean, so please don't get angry.

          That said, yes and no. There are civilian versions of MP5 clones as well as civilian versions of other sub-machine guns. Using the phrase "sub-machine gun" indicates that you are talking about a select-fire (full-auto capable) pistol caliber weapon (generally carbine size - smaller than that = "machine pistol" or "PDW" in the latest tacti-sprach). Most such guns that are legal in other states (ie. not restricted by a federal law) can be made into a CA-legal configuration.

          Start here:

          Understand that the laws are not simple. If you have a specific question though, then feel free to post here and see what the folks on the forum can do to help. While asking if you can get legal sub-machine guns may have seemed like simple question, it is actually really way too broad. There are issues of:
          - Overall length;
          - Open vs closed bolt design;
          - Rimfire vs centerfire;
          - I assume you meant semi-auto, and not full-auto like the transferable MP5 that Synergy kind of tongue-in-cheek linked for you.

          Basically, if you had asked.
          "Hi guys, I would like to get a CA-legal MP-5 variant, what are my options?"
          then you would get much better answers. For now, read up on OLL's. That should help make more sense of it for you.

          That was a bit of a long rambling post, but I hope that helps some
          -Pete

            Coharie Arms CA94 with a Raddlock and 10 round mag. I'm pretty sure Cold War Shooters or one of our other great vendors can help you with that.

            Send it to an HK smith and have it converted to whatever configuration you want, just keep the barrel over 16" and the overall length over 30". Have them change out the extractor and spring with a factory HK unit while theyre at it. RDTS does a killer MP5-SD conversion with a fake silencer.

              your closest bet to a CA compliant MP5 N is from lanworldinc.com. Although not a true MP5, still CA legal.
