No. They have nothing to do with each other.

Here's the parts you need for the A2 stock. There's 2 more pics attached.

I wouldn't say they have nothing to do with each other, considering that the gas system pushes gas into the gas key and drives the BCG back into the buffer.

OP, Yes you can use the entry level buffer tube using an A1 or A2 stock. You need to get couple of spacers (or make one) and a longer screw. Or you can also get an extender, but this only extends it by 1"

I used to have that RRA entry level stock, it was too short for me as well, I bought an A1 stock and just modded a round piece of wood as a spacer and got the long screw from Home Depot.

They are two totally independent systems in that any gas system works with any buffer system. You can have a rifle upper and a rifle buffer system. A rifle upper and a car buffer system. A car upper and a car buffer. A car upper and a rifle buffer. A mid upper and a car buffer. A mid upper and a rifle buffer. They all work no mater how you mix and match.

Thery may work, but reliability may suffer.

Please explain. In your opinion, what gas system and buffer tube length would be less reliable?
