I'll agree with the LEGO for adults.

I finally ordered all the parts for the two AR platform rifles I'm building.

One is a carbine with the following:
    Stag Arms lower
Mako recoil reducing stock -> http://www.themakogroup.com/product_p/gl-shockcp.htm
    PSA MOE lower kit

    No upper yet.
But looking at something in the $600 range
Your Source for Service Rifles: M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M14 / M1A & AR Types

    Number two
    Stag Arms lower
    Magpul PRS
    PSA MOE lower kit

    No upper yet.
    Looking at a Fulton Armory

    or http://www.fulton-armory.com/farifle...3-2-2-1-1.aspx
Haven't decided but which ever will be side charge.

      Question about uppers.

What should I look for in an upper?
      Chromed barrel and BCG?
      Mid weight barrel?
      1in 7 or 1 in 9?

          Backwards hammer springs.
          Backwards trigger springs.
          Missing parts.
          Mis-adjusted (unsafe) adjustable triggers.

          Bent selector detent springs.
Rear triggerguard tab broken off the lower installing triggerguard roll pin.
Lots of incorrectly machined 80% receivers.
          Randall,
Add this one...checking a friends build. Somehow he got both buffer tube springs that came with the kit to fit inside! He said he thought that because it came with 2, they both should go in it.

Wow... watch your lips when pushing the retainer down. How can you even fit two buffer springs and a buffer into a receiver extension? Didn't know a come along had a purpose when it came to guns.

Idk. When I built my 1st m4gery I had no clue on how to put it together. Youtube and a diagram was all I used. 1000 rnds later and not even one malfunction. I guess I'm just mechanically gifted. J/k. I have a second lower I'm building now. Piecing it together. Not sure what style I want. Probably gonna do a middy w/ some good glass. GL op

I have never seen that one.
Other buffer area mayhem I have witnessed though:
A2 screw in an A1 or "entry" stock stops the bolt from being able to feed properly or lock back on an empty mag.
So much grease applied to spring to reduce "sproing" that the gun would not function.
                      Wrong length buffer installed.
                      Wrong spring installed.
Buffer tube improperly installed so the buffer detent is not captured correctly, allowing the buffer detent to jump up into the carrier and lock up the whole gun.

I would like to use my AR for shooting out 300 yards for punching paper and maybe varmet hunting.
