considering a new upper

I've been considering a new upper something away from the 556. I'm thinking about the 25-223 or the 6mmx223. I like to keep the 223 parent case. so thoughts please.

How about the 300 blackout? Much more after market support, brass and ammo readily available and its gaining popularity so ammo prices should come down once it gets more mainstream.

I have a 6mm 223 a lot of fun. That round is awesome for long range ground squirrels
