Interested in a 26"+ Barrel for AICS Build, w/ muzzle brake. Can someone give me some recommendations?

    Thanks

As soon as I get some other projects finished, I'll be sending my wife's 700 to Hart Barrels. Otherwise, check over on Snipershide.com. Lots recommend Krieger and Rock to name a couple.

Bartlein barrel in MTU profile... Not too expensive and highly recommended on Snipershide. Turnaround time is a bit better also.

        Hit it with a rock.

Rock Creek makes some dame good barrels. I'm running an AMU contour in a 24" and it is very fast and accurate.

I use Mike Rocks 1-11.27 on M24 builds and Gary Schneiders 1-12 on M40A1's.

You can't really go wrong with any of the name barrel manufacturers. I keep it simple nowadays. I just order whatever George Gardner (GA Precision) has on the racks (he keeps a minimum of 300 barrels in stock). He can fit my T2k and my Crusader with no issues.

+1 to whatever George has. I ordered a 5.5 contour bartlein from him and got it a few days later. Sure beats a 4 month wait from most others.

I waited just over 6 weeks for my rock. That was painful.

I heard some good things about Bartlein and their customer service is excellent. I have a MTU contour on order and they said it will take less than 8 weeks for me to get it. Rock barrels are over a 20 week lead time right now.

You know you have to have a gunsmith install it, right? Unless you are going to cut the chamber yourself and you have the expertise and the reamer, OR if you have one already chambered in the caliber you want, you will need a lathe to turn the shoulder to the correct length to get the proper headspace.

I saw your other thread and I don't understand why you don't just buy a Remington 700 varmint or police rifle. Based on your other post, it doesn't seem like you are interested in spending the money on a custom barrel.

You're welcome. If you ARE going to get a custom rig built, go with a Krieger.

I am using the R700 as the donor rifle. I just wanted a barrel that would closer to the AI Magnum as oppose to the regular Remington barrel, something longer and with a brake on it
