Does the safety have to be installed on an 80% build?

I'm putting together and 80% pistol. Do I have to install the safety?

Why would you NOT install the safety?

Really? No one can make you use it but why wouldn't you want it? You bought a LPK and it came with it so it's not like you have to go out and buy one. Plus, you have a hole in both sides of your lower receiver if you don't install it. You did drill the hole for it didn't you?
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

I have not drilled the holes. I have no intention of using the safety on this particular firearm. I also don't plan on ever having to switch between semi/full.

So if I do not have to have the safety/selector installed, I'm going to opt not to. If I have to, I will. If I later decide that I want the selector installed, I will take it apart and do so.

So my question is, do I have to have the safety/selector installed?

You know full auto is no legal anyways, right?

Just out of curiosity, why will you never use the safety?

Glocks do not have a safety. But they were designed that way.

Like it has been stated. Unless you mill your 80% lower to be fully automatic (totally illegal) the safety selector has nothing to do with what it selects to.

So a normal 80% mill to spec will only operate in safe / semiautomatic.

Safety starts between the ears. Keep the booger hook off the boom switch until you are on target and ready.

Glocks have the safe action trigger.

Sig's do not either but they have the decocking lever

Doesn't that leave you completely safety less? ARs don't have an internal safety like most of the handguns have....does it?
