You'll end up with a top shelf build, but you probably already know that.

Ok 1st build, my advice. Don't bother with the POF/S crap or the fancy buffer and spring. Magpul, alg, and hogue is all good. I would not get that upper mostly because it limits what handguard you can run. You'll want atleast a 11" handguard eventually.

Looks great and yeah you have done your homework.

You thought of a mid-length instead of carbine length? That would be my only question on the build. Mid length will give you more rail space. I prefer more rail space cause I'm a little taller then the norm and my grip goes pretty far out there. With the carbine I feel scrunched up.

But that is me. Not sure if you have held both and felt the difference

Since it's a piston upper it's tougher to change out handguards, can't just through a low profile gas block then a longer handguard.

Again gonna be a great build how you have it.

I'm only 5'9," so I don't mind the length. I don't need a whole lot of rail space, either.

I just want a light, free-floated hand guard that can accommodate a small rail on the bottom for a vfg and a side rail for a light.

The way I see it, a carbine length system will make it lighter in the front, and make the rifle balance better overall.

Edit: didn't notice you were going piston not gas.

What steel does Adam use in their barrels?

I think you picked conservatively and wisely with your build. I'm torn between simple A2 front post and Magpul handguards or go for low profile gas block and a Centurion CMR. I like FF rails like that Samson that aren't quad-TACTICAL-blaster rails to attach 3 lasers to.

Good choice buying POF buffer tube personally. If you're going to build your lower you're supposed to hand pick each and every part to your exact taste.

If your concerned about weight maybe you should look at a DI upper. A 14.5, DI, carbine gas system upper with a pencil barrel will be very light and quick handling.

Nice, and nice choice on parts. I just picked up 2 more aero precisions. Got a full kit coming for one, just to make it a plinker, and going to build the second in. 7.62x39. That one will get all hand picked parts.

You found parts on your first AR that I didn't discover until my 3rd home build and ended up going back and replacing on the first two. Congrats.
