    Front Flip Sight Help

So I am looking for some flip sights for my AR15 with a railed gas block and an MOE handguard. Magpul MBUS is out cause they melt and others I've tested/seen hit the hanguard when folded down.

I've considered going as far as installing a low profile gas block and throwing a mid-length quad rail and be done with it but I like my FDE lightweight guard.

    Any help is appreciated.

Magpuls melt? Really? Never heard of that.

How about Troys? They won't melt. But not sure if they'll hit your handguard.

        YHM?

YHM is a third-generation family-owned business that leads the industry in manufacturing quality silencers, firearms, & more without adding the vanity price tag

If you think that will work I can measure mine for you. You do need some room to flip it down.
Or you have to accept putting it on backwards.

New Magpul MBUS PRO will be great for this. Metal, and should fit easily on top of a (full size) gas block. I just put a set on my AA piston upper. Cheaper than some of the other contenders and sooo small and light.

Only drawback is on front you can't replace front sight post with night sight or other... but did I say light?

Other drawback is they seem to be "out of stock" again.

I assume you have a gas block height railed gas block or is it receiver height? Is it lower than your receiver's rail or the same height? This will limit your options if it is lower.

Midwest Industries and Troy both make excellent gas block height front flip-up sights.

Plastic and the temperature that a gas block heats up to is a bad idea. MBUS are meant to be mounted on the forend which does not heat up. Besides, unless his gas block is receiver height they would be the wrong height anyway.

Troy do make a specific front sight that's for gas blocks it sits a little taller to clear hand guards.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Just to clarify, my gas block rail is lower than the receiver. Is there as riser that can be added just in case I cant find what I'm looking for?

The troy gas block mounted front sight is straight bolt on for the low profile railed gas blocks.

The Troy gas block will do what you need. I wouldn't suggest a riser block for something as crucial as a sight. Sights are built for taking a beating. The riser not so much.

Trying to decide between a GG&G setup or a YHM sight or total gas block/front sight/sling swivel combo post.

Buds has a great deal in YHM stuff.

No, just get the correct type of sight. You will be able to find it. Troy makes a really nice one as does Midwest Industries.

I like the troy ones best. The M4 Standard Style Hood is easier to use than the HK style hood but for some reason the HK style hood is more popular, looks I guess.

Midwest Industries Gas Block Height Front Sight with HK Style Hood in FDE Flat Dark Earth might work for you since you have FDE furniture.

So there are plenty of great options out there designed specifically for your standard railed gas block. They are not hard to find. You don't have to get them from me. Not pressuring you. Just showing you they exist and are nice.
