Can the Velocity Arms VR9 SF 9mm MP5 Clone be made California legal? I know a bullet button installed but would the stock have to be blocked? Maybe you have an A2 stock that could be installed instead? I noticed they are on sale in your website and the pricing is very affordable.

      MP5 all the way...

Very easy to shoot. I've had first time shooters consistantly hit the 9-10 rings from 15 - 25 yards away.

Note that the VR9 is not a roller lock gun like the other MP5 clones.

Wow! Lot's of great info. Nice to see Atlantic actively involved in the thread they seem to do really well for us Kalifornians (even have a link for Kali legal on their site). I think I will give them an e-mail and see if I can give them some business. Seem like a good outfit. Thank you all for the replies and advice (and the cool pictures!) JDW67 what brand of MP5 is that? Nice looking rig.

Go to hkpro.com to see if anyone's selling. Look up DJgetz and see if he still has clones available. Search HKpro, but sounds like his clones get a lot of good reviews. I got a couple 10rd mags from him and they are very nice.

I have the MKE and it's great. Got the P version and converted it to a rifle so no magwell bars. Did spend a crapload for 922r compliant stuff from HKparts.net, hkspecialist.com, and others.

It's a Cohaire CA94 made by the infamous Mr. Bailey.

Google him and you'll find all sorts of interesting stories about the man. I didn't know about him when I bought the gun, but it's been 100% reliable.

Grease guns are machineguns. They were never commercially produced as semi-autos. Someone may have cobbled up a conversion but the parts would be super-proprietary and the reliability questionable.

MP5's are also machineguns. What's being cloned are HK94's, not MP5's.

Everybody knows what an Mp5 is by name. Most people have never heard of an HK94 or SP98. So using those names, while technically correct does not convey the point as concisely.

He knows that, some people just like to be douchey, it really is the plague of the CGN.

DoubleDose good luck with your search, looks like you have a little more time unless you want it before 1/1/14 so its not registered.

MikeR thanks. Yeah I did want to get it in under the radar before Jan but we'll see. There is a Vector MP5 40sw for sale right now locally I am interested in but just haven't convinced myself on the 40SW since it would be the only gun I have in that caliber. It is a good deal though at $1650 and I have bought some other things from the seller seems like a good guy. Just need to either decide to hold out for a 9mm or be like Nike and Just Do It!

What do you guys think about the 40SW for MP5 clone? There is some pros to it since they are fewer and farther between not as common as 9mm and 40SW isn't that much more than 9mm and a little more power, probably be easy to resell if I change my mind and go for 9mm later since it's kind of rare. Should I just go for it and look for 9mm later if I don't like it?
