Is it really the lightest? Carbon fiber handguard

Compared to the lightest aluminum handguards, like Troy Battlerail. Is carbon fiber still the lightest?
And where can you find the cheapest ones?

from my research they are about as light as most standard handguards . so if you have to have a freefloat system CF is the lightest by quite a few ounces. if you dont want to spend a lot go with standard triangle sight and pick your flavor of standard handguard. no shield, single shield and double shield are going to have ounce differences between them as well

I have limited experience with the Lancer ones. Side by side, the carbine length is actually heavier than the magpul moe stuff. The barrel nut on the Lancer is pretty heavy, but they look nice and have a good feel.

Carbon fiber and cheap are two words that are not mutually exclusive. I built a rifle to be the lightest I could make it. I chose the Lancer hands down.

Saw a complete carbon ar-15 in my local shop and it was heavy over 7.5lbs. It also had a price tag of 3999. Nutz!
