Sorry csa, what I meant is that I don't do anything risky incase I have a run in with leo's. All my stuff is legally configured and/or on the up and up just in case I get pulled over or whatever. It's not worth the risk

      It's all good dude,
You were kind of ripping on the featureless builds so I threw that stuff at you above.

But seriously, I don't like the look of my featureless but it handles every bit as well; and by that I mean 99.9% as well as my standard ARs.

I can live without a flash hider, and many muzzle brakes actually work pretty good for decreasing the flash.
Fixed stock is okay by me unless I am in and out of a vehicle with it.

I use a VFG on my carbines when possible, but not on my longer barreled rifles, so no big loss there.

Other than that, not much to drop off of an AR.

      I use the Monsterman grip.
I agree. Not so pretty, but it works just fine. I can use all controls with no trouble, and much faster than a bullet button.

Don't get me (us) wrong, we all wish we didn't have to bother either.

But remember, the problem is the legislators and the legislation.

Would something like this work: http://shop.solartactical.com/FAL-KY...N-GRIP-137.htm

        I presume it would?

It works as far as not meeting the definition of a pistol grip. Dont forget all the other evil features

be advised: a muzzle brake that reduces flash is, per the state DOJ, a flash hider.

Already aware of that, but thanks.

Just the simple nature of things.

Personally, I think a muzzle brake on a 16"-20" barreled .223 is unnecessary.
I just run a target crowned (non-threaded) barrel on my featureless.

              YMMV

I'm selling my featureless setup. It was awesome to build. I needed the experience, and I found it to be more ideal for me than the M16A2 I had trained with before. I like the horizontal stock, and a linear compensator is nice too. Ambi safety made it way easier, and dropping the mag is awesome.

I have a AR15 I built featureless and one I built with a Bullet Button. Both work great. I prefer the non bullet button, and I printed a copy of the CalGuns flowchart showing that featureless is legal. I keep the copy of the flowchart in my gun case with the rifle just in case I get a law enforcement officer that does not know the law. It is completely legal.
However, the Bullet Button is not that big of a deal. I don't plan on going into combat and I can change mags just fine with a bullet button.

Great point! It's possible in the next few weeks the featureless May go the way of th "Dodo bird". Pete

Be careful which brake you use, because if it perceptibly reduces muzzle flash from the shooters field of vision it is a flash hider. Please read the California code of regulations.
