Compensator, because a flash hider turns a featureless rifle into the spawn of satan.

I'll never use any muzzle device that increases the sound and blast to me. If i'm in a situation where I have to use my AR I'm not going to have hearing protection on. So I get into one fire fight and now I can't hear jack****? Screw that, I need to be aware of my surrounding and hear threats. 223/5.56 is wimpy kicker anyway. A good proper hold will do more for recoil than a brake will. All my fighting rifles have a Linear Comp on them that directs the blast forward. I can shoot 30+rds of 5.56 and 7.62x39 without ears and they actually do a decent job of reducing flash too.

I'm putting a linear brake on my new coyote hunting upper. Never know when your going to snap a shot off and don't want to deafen myself. We will see how it works. I run featureless so FH is a no go.

I doubt a linear brake will be comfortable shooting without ear protection. Especially if there is an awning you are shooting under. I use the troy claymore (linear brake). It does what it is supposed too, don't think it's the best out there, but it does better than an a2. the "loud" brakes tend to be more effective.

both... Griffin FlashComp... Joe Bob has good price: http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/Grif...6flashcomp.htm

find a $5 filling item and get free shipping... (don't forget your free shirt)

I recently put one on M&P10, but haven't shot with it yet... gets good reviews though.
