If going cheap, you can buy surplus uzi rebuild kits and cut the notch for your mag release.
If you can find rebuild kits - I had them on RRA 9mm build and theye were reliable. They sold them in 10/10 bodies but were pain to grab on to since the bottom of magazine barely cleared magazine well.
With these mags you have bolt hold open function, with uzi conversion mags either you count the rounds or go click like an AK on empty chamber. If we were not in Cali, SOP for German army was to load 2nd, or 3rd round as tracer as visual that you are almost empty.Last edited by jchen76@gmail.com; 09-20-2013, 3:10 PM. -
That's cheap....I think it'll be cheaper to ask a friend to buy those from out of state, disassemble it and then ship them to me as kits so I can block them.Comment

I wonder how reliable those are. Original Colt mags go for $150 each, and more. If these cheapies worked well, you wouldn't think the originals would bring such a high price.
That said, they are so much cheaper that it's worth taking a shot. Ditto Uzi mags, although they are going to be a lot more expensive. My price was $30 in my marketplace ad.Comment

I got mine from 9mmAR.com. Metalform mags are the top of the line...but they are not the cheapest. Last time I got some he was willing to ship 30 round re-build kits. So I ordered a few and I welded a metal rod in the body to make them 10 round mags. But I don't know if they are still shipping re-build kits to California or not. Good luck!Comment
