FAL Parts Kit Question

I just picked up an Argentine FAL parts kit off of Gunbroker. The seller was concerned with the legality of shipping it to CA. I was under the impression that an FAL parts kit were were no different an AK/AR parts kit, and that it's not an issue bringing it in to CA. Am I wrong? Is there some reason this is prohibited?

You can have it shipped to Ca.The only issue is the mag.Have him take it down and ship as parts.

Parts kits are perfectly fine. Only part that is illegal is an assembled mag as stated. He can disassemble the mag and send it to you legally then. The fal is a wonderful gun to build. Have fun!!

Buy a Coonan receiver and build away! Entreprise arms makes a decent FAL magazine lock and muzzle break.

They are legal in CA. Not sure how much you paid but you could probably have gotten the Argy kit from Sarco

Argy kits w/barrel non-matching part numbers (when they have them) are $549.00 at Sarco. I paid a bit more than that for this kit, but it's all matching numbers and minty condition. I don't mind paying a bit of a premium for the matching numbers/+++ condition. As long as the condition of the kit is as portrayed in the description/pics, I'll be happy....

Now, the search for a receiver...... :-)

does sarco ship to CA? I called them about a year ago and they said that they didn't.

coonan or DSA receivers are highly recommended.

Can't speak on behalf of everything they sell. But they will ship Fal parts kits to CA.
