Best 1911 style 9mm handgun on CA roster?

I was interested in buying the S&W Pro Series 1911 in 9mm, but it seems like it is not approved on the roster...

Can you guys recommend a 1911 style 9mm pistol that is CA approved?

*sorry just SEARCHED and found the info I was looking for.... looking at PARA, KIMBER, and SA. Mod can delete this redundant thread

The word "best" can mean a lot of different things to different people. What's your budget? As 1911's can get very pricey.

Which would be a good investment / heirloom? I would like to buy a 1911 that I can pass onto my kids, and grandkids etc.

Find an old colt or get a Dan Wesson pointman 9.

SVI. They perform something similar to SSE in that they have a .45 on the roster but will convert it to whatever caliber you want after you take possession.

I would call their guns high performance collectibles.

If I am not mistaken there are only 3 rostered 1911 9mms; SA EMP, Kimber SS Target and SA SS Target. I have the SA SS Target and it is wonderful. My favorite handgun by far.

You can always go the Single Shot Exempt route, while it is still legal.

                        It isn't terribly difficult to convert a .45 to a 9mm. Or the .38 Super 1911s to 9mm.

I vote the sig p938.. bc it goes everywhere with me... 8 rounds of 9mm in a tiny package.

I converted my kimber pro carry hd II 38 super to 9 mm and it's awesome!
