MEGA ARMS MATEN (MKM) QUESTIONS

Does anyone know if the Mega Arms MKM MATEN upper/lower combo uses the same lower as the previous (non-MKM) MATENs?

I'm trying to get a couple more long guns before Jan 1st 2014 and while I'd like to just buy the entire keymod set, getting just the lower first would allow me to use some of the funds on other things. I could always pick up the upper set at a later date.

Any help would be appreciated!

Oh yea, if it is confirmed that they're identical, could someone recommend a few good places to shop for the MATEN lower? My google-fu is way off this morning.

I believe the lowers are the same, but your guess is as good as mine as far as locating any Mega lowers, like finding a needle in a haystack. Prolly best bet would be gunbroker.

If you can setup a browser plugin to monitor pages, you can do this to scan for page changes.

In the peak of the scare they would sell out in 5 minutes. Now they sell it in anywhere from an hour to a couple of days - depending on what it is and who's selling it.

Lowers are compatible. Best method of inventory update from us is going to be to "Like" our Facebook page (see signature) as we'll announce hot inventory there. We don't use an email notification feature with this cart software as it plays with core behavior of the cart plus sometimes, there's a lag for people depending on email service.

I went ahead and contacted Mega Arms directly. They confirmed the lower on the MATENs haven't been changed at all.

Now if I can just get my hands on one!

Got a email notification from Rainier yesterday evening regarding the Maten.

Check all night, still not in stock, early morning still not in stock, finally checked again around 8:30 am. Add to cart. Got my order in.

Shagg is right, get on the list and be ready to pull the trigger. I checked the web site a couple of hours later and they were sold out.

Get the lower, their qc is really good so when you get an upper it will have a tight fit. No need to worry about the matched set. Plenty of people on other boards will tell you the same thing, there are more than a couple who have swapped regular MAten uppers for MKM versions.

I actually have to plan out my purchases for the remainder of the year, so it makes the most sense for me just get the MATEN lower first. Still too many rifles and pistols to purchase before any new laws pop up, if you know what I mean!

Yep. I had no plans to pickup a MATEN, but the current legislation quickly changed my mind.
