PWS FSC556: Thoughts? UPDATED w PICS

    EDIT:
Aright fellas (& ladies), I did it. I bought a PWS FSC556 today.
Paid full price, but I can live with that. $102 installed.
Everything looks good, let me know if yall see something wrong with it haha.
Hopefully I'll get to try it out tomorrow.

I'm considering putting a muzzle device on my AR. First of all, will someone try to shoot off my muzzle break at the range, and second, is it worth the hundred bucks? Thanks for any input

I have one, only complaint is that your fellow shooters to your left or right may not be a fan.

I see, so it's just as loud as all the others (surefire, battlecomp, etc.) I assume?

Oh well, bought it.. Sorry in advance OnTarget & Angeles shooters

I have one… I like it, feel that it was worth my money.

I like the hybrid design with the flash hider prongs on it… does a good job and keeps flash out of my optics when I shoot at night.

It’s as loud and irritating to shooters next to you as any other side fire brake.

            True.

            Love mine so far too.

is $89.99 plus $7 shipping a decent price? PA has it for that. And what's the cost roughly to have it installed? I don't have a vice

That's about the going rate unless you find one used or catch a sale.

It's a good brake. As to loudness, hey, it's a shooting sport. Deal with the noise. Otherwise, go take up archery, sling shot, spearfishing, or something else.

The PWS definitely has more blast than a Battlecomp, but it's a better brake in my opinion. I would take the battlecomp for a CQB brake and the PWS for all other practical shooting .

i used a litlle heat on standard MB and it came right off.

and this to line it up.

I hear ya cpatbay, I could care less about the extra noise too. Although I remember a guy next to me dumping mag after mag out of his 308 scar without pause.. It had a LOUDDD device attached.. I almost wanted to end it for the day. Luckily he dumped his 10 mags and left

How did you secure the barrel? I've read that you should secure the barrel (rather than the upper receiver) with a vice..? Is this true

the best tool IMO is the geissele rod. It's perfect to install FH. MB..etc..pricey and you need a vise but well worth it if you need to service multiple ARs.
