    Lower assembly selector issue

My friend just assembled his lower and his selector will go to safe without the hammer being cocked. He said he verified that his springs are in right, anyone know what would cause this as I've never seen a lower that can be put on safe uncocked?

Some LPK allow this to happen. Just do all your function checks and it will be fine.

I've got a PSA LPK, no issue like that with mine. I just tested it last night.

Have you inspected the safety spring and detent for function?

You can only do this if the selector is put on the right side instead of the left side of the rifle recheck it and see

sounds like the safety hole is drilled a tad high and you should be concerned if you rely on your safety

It is on the left side. Maybe the hole is high as it feels like some resistance as it goes to safe uncocked. The safety still functions. I will meet up with him to see if springs and detent are correct

My friend has a plum crazy lower and you can put it on safe without the hammer cocked.....weird. There's some reason your not supposed to be able to put the safety on without the hammer cocked......one of the reasons is so you don't flip off safety, try to shoot and have no round in the chamber. There's another reason having to do with clearing malfs

If it is the selector itself and not the lower then that sounds like a perfect excuse to buy an AMBI safety. Ambi safeties offer a lot of benfits. When you go to let it hang, you bring your trigger finger back and use your knuckle to engage the safety. MUCH faster than other methods.
