Kiss to Bliss - My BRD is finally over.

Hello. Been a member here now for almost three years. I acquired my first and only OLL two years ago from Ammo Bros. I held it in storage up until a few months ago when my girlfriend suggested that it was time to fill that OLL up. So after getting help from Shark over at Riflegear and with instructional how to from my fellow calgunners, this is what materialized....

......I thought that I was done. A KISS build was what I was aiming for and I think I achieved my goal. This rifle's baptism took place over on BLM territory near ridgecrest - with 500 rounds of Steel cased wolf ammo, she ate every one of those pesky rounds and never failed.

Then comes the time to upgrade and well.....we all know how that goes - You just can't stop upgrading. At least in my case, I didn't really break the bank. Nonetheless, my vision and dream and all those hours reading and researching brought me to build this....

She's finally done guys.......I'm gonna go and pursue something less expensive now. Last week a friend took me to Irvine Lake to fish and I think I'm hooked. So in the meantime.........I think that's what'll relieve my stress.

PS. Thank You Addax Tactical. The takedown bag is awesome and she fits right in like a glove. BTW. That little sumthin' sumthin' you gave me was awesome also. Your company has a bright future ahead!

Yep, it starts with a 1022 or maybe a SKS or Mini-14. Then it moves to an AR-15 or AK. There is then a gestation period where you trick out your AR or AK to high heaven. You think you are cured, but then it metastasises into more an more ARs and then finally you move into the last stage - the exotics. Sigs, Valmets, and HKs begin to consume your thoughts until you just can not bear it. But there is one final step, Class III firearms (but that will require you to leave this state).

        You are doomed my friend.

I was entertaining the thought of my LAR-8 being the last black rifle I buy, but then I read "HK" and went... *hit. Ya the HKs are awesome, someday I'll buy one... but after a LAR-8 and a case of good .308 that's gonna be it. There'll be a few accessories, sure, but in all I'm now looking to sell some of my ARs and parts. BRD can only go so far before it (no pun intended) starts shooting you in the foot.

Just you wait.... You'll be scouring garage for items you can Ebay and raiding your loose change stash to fund the Aimpoint and throw lever mount you'll no doubt *need* to mount on that CASV top rail....

Then it's a field repair kit that turns into a LPK, which means you need a 'spare' lower 'just in case', which will inevitably build itself into another rifle. For which you'll more 'spare parts".....

Most of you are probably right. Probably something in .22, 7.62x39 or 7.62nato is in my not so immediate future. So again, My Black Rifle Disease is currently in remission. Next time a friend asks me If I want to go to Ammo Bros to look at their selection, I will just have to leave my wallet at home.

Correct. I'm perfectly content with iron sights. My Father was in the Marine Corps and he taught me how to shoot at age 7 with an old Sears Roebuck .22Ted Williams special that I still have to this day.

I've never shot anything that had an eotech, aimpoint, or trijicon on it so until I do, iron sights are the way to go for me.

btw. my su16 has a russian made 2nd generation. kobra ekp eccentric mount that is currently discontinued. It has 4 reticles and as for quick acquisition of target, it's pretty descent.

I hope they don't have a layaway program or you'll be asking your buddy to spot you some money so you can put that oh so sweet rifle on layaway just so you come back to DROS and pay for it in full later.
