Typo on DROS is this a big deal?

ok so a few weeks back i did the DROS paper work for my OLL and when i got home i noticed they entered in my name wrong. i have four names on my DL my first, two middle names, and a last. my first name got entered in right but the second part of my middle name was entered as my last and my real last name entered under suffix. i called up the shop and they told me that they don't enter info on my DL manually they just swipe it and the computer enters it and it tends to make this typo when theres more that three names on a DL. He said that the DOJ would cross reference the name with my DL# and if theres a problem they won't process it. Ten days goes by and i was able to pick it up. So my question is are there going to be any problems i might run into further down the line?

Your okay. The DL is all that matters. They'll just cross reference it with a background check and in 10 days you can wreak havoc with your OLL.

They store multiple middle or last names weird on DLs. It was likely how the scanner input your information when the DL was swiped, and not because the salesperson entered it wrong.

      Regardless, it should be fine.

im just worried that further down the line for some reason i would have to produce my DROS paper work and there would be some discrepancy that would result a confiscation, am i being too paranoid?

Yup, you are being too paranoid. The DROS for long guns is just for the background check. Once that is completed then you are good to go, the gun/receiver is yours, and you do not need any papers to prove it is yours or that you bought it legally. You will not ever have to produce your DROS, you can throw it away if you want.

You will never be required to show DROS paperwork to prove anything because unless it was a handgun, DROS paperwork proves nothing. So you have a piece of paper that shows you bought a long gun. What kind of long gun? It doesn't say.

Next, you don't need to prove to anyone you bought something. They need to prove you didn't buy it. However, should you feel you have to prove to anyone you bought something, your bill of sale complete with gun information and serial number is all you need.

I have mispelled names on DROS. Nothing happens. If they come looking for a gun and have your DROS info, tell them that isn't you. You don't spell your name that way.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

              same for me

1 first name, 2 middle names and the last name.
I just DROS some OLLs the other day and again my last name got entered in the suffix part. It's just the way the DL scanner works. No prb for you. Buy as many as you want
