Since this is more building then gunsmithing I thought I'd post it here. It seems switching out a front sight for a "no sight" gas block is pretty simple - but heck, switching out a worn Python hand seemed pretty simple to me about 30 years ago. I learned the hard way it isn't.
Is switching out the front sight a matter of drifting out 3 pins (two for the barrel, 1 for the gas port) then drifting on the one piece gas block? Any little pitfalls to be aware of? Will the gas port on the barrel line up with the port on the gas block? Is this really a matter of just switching and if so, which gas block has worked best?
