    Sig516R Does it Exist?

In Sig's catalog there is a Sig516R model, one that shoots 7.62x39 and uses 7.62x39 AR mags. I've searched and searched but there doesn't seem to be any info on this rifle. Does anybody know if the rifle actually exist or it is just vapor ware?

That would be the Sig556R. I've shot it and it's a fine rifle but AR triggers are much much sweeter if you spend the money.

That would be the Sig556R. I'm looking for the 516R which is a 7.62x39 AR that runs on a carbine length gas piston system.

Outside of having the ergos and manual of arms of an AR (for those of you that absolutely cant learn a new system) I dont really see Ny advantage here over a good ol AK.
Dont get me wrong, the more designs and options out there the better, this just doesent speak to me.

None available on gunbroker and it isn't listed in Sig's main product listing.

I'm guessing its not out yet.

For me it's not a matter of learning a new system. I have a AK, a XCR, Mini-30 and SKS. They are all different systems but they all shoot 7.62x39 and operate with a gas piston. I like that caliber so I want more things in that caliber.

It's not on their website or any other website. You will only see if if you download their PDF catalog. It seems strange that Sig would put something in their catalog that isn't available to the market. I think there is a good chance that Sig scrapped the idea at some point. After all the 7.62x39 AR serves a much smaller market. PWS make one I think 2 years ago but it totaled up to less than 1% of the sales so they discontinued it.
