Use the torque wrench that comes with the gun.
If the barrel is not torqued properly, it could be moving around.

The ammo you are shooting is probably only good for 4 moa.
So, it COULD just be YOU and the AMMO, or it could be a loose barrel and the ammo.

      The scope is a Leupold 3.5-10x40 Mark 4 LR/T.

Distance was 100 yards shooting from a bench.

I was getting 6-7 inch groups. In the past I have been shooting 1.5 inch groups or better.

I handed the rifle to my friend and father to shoot, they both had the same results so I want to discount that its completely shooter error, maybe partial shooter error adding to lack of accuracy.

I dont trust the torque wrench from LMT so I have under-tightened the screws if anything, not over-tightened. Seems like this could be the issue, I will get back with a range report Sunday night. Range report will include 3 types of ammo. Thank you all for your insight.

I have a torque wrench calibrator if you want to bring the wrench over and check its calibration.
Under-tightening the clamp screws will allow the barrel to be moving around.
Torque the screws with the wrench amd go test fire it again.
If the accuracy problem goes away, you found the problem...

To short for what? Your not suggesting that a 16" barrel on a .308 will be inherently inaccurate are you?

The gun and barrel are fine, you were shooting 1.5 groups before until you removed the barrel. You failed to tighten the barrel down to specs and its causing the barrel to wobble. If you don't trust the provided torque wrench just buy a good one from matco or snap-on.

If that doesn't work than try different ammo after you re tighten the barrel. My mws shoots fine, outshoots me every time had the gun less than a month and over 500 rounds through it and no issues.

for grins put the scope and mount on another gun and see what happens, if the scope is an older version with the wire reticle it could be loose ~ that will eliminate a variable too.

See my target above. That was shot with a stock 16" CL barrel.

Buy a quality torque wrench that will be boa--make sure the bolts are not stripped or broken. Or send the rifle to LMT to make sure there are no probs
