Three times now my buffer retaining pin and spring have popped out of the lower and flopped around in the trigger assembly. This last time it happened while I was just dry running it before cleaning. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

Your receiver extension isn't threaded in far enough.
Easily fixed with a castle nut wrench.Comment

Thanks guys. That is obviously my issue. Sometimes you just need a slap in the back of the head to get straightened out.

Also an easy but pricey fix for that would be a PWS enhanced buffer tube. Has an extended lip to really hold that retaining pin in place. Think it really benefits gas piston systems too which PWS uses in their rifles. Threw one in the LWRC and it feels much more solid now. A nice upgrade for any rifle. Kinda weird that Riflegear sells them cheaper than PWS does. And it eliminates the castle nut so no staking to worry about.Comment

I just installed a new mil spec buffer tube and did not install correctly. Simple and stupid mistake.
Thanks again for the help.Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress... But, I repeat myself. -Mark Twain
