    My first OLL Build

    I was hoping to get this done in time to make a big "My First Build" and "1000 Post" thread but the stuff didn't come in time. Oh well

    I picked up the lower when J&J had their $95 / lower sale back in March and have been sitting on it since then. I finally took the dive and forked over a considerable amount of money to Riflegear.com and built it up.

    For my first build, I decided to go with something simple

    * Spike's Tactical Lower (w/ select fire markings)
    * Doublestar LPK
    * Bullet Button
    * CMMG 16" M10 Midlength Medcon upper
    * Stag A2 stock
    * Stag detachable carry handle
    *10/30 Magazine

    Now I just need to get in some range time and break in the barrel.

    Oh, and I have a question for you guys. Right now the spring for the dust cover is keeping it open. How do I get it to keep the dust cover closed? I've google'd this, but can't find directions how to keep it closed or keep it open. I feel silly asking, but there's only one way to learn. TIA

        Careful. I'm already looking at stuff to upgrade what I currently have. And I haven't gone out to shoot it yet.

            Bullet Button makes it all okay. If you have a detachable magazine you can't have a pistol grip.

              I believe that is a 10/30 mag. Well, it should be.

                    nice build! speaking of pistol grips, you should look into a cheap pistol grip upgrade. it changes the whole feel of the rifle more so than any other part for the buck. i am a strong supporter of the MIAD grips but the CA UPG16 and Hogue is excellent too.

                    p.s. guys, can we stop with the un-educated "pistol grip is a no-no" routine? i am finding it humorous how a guy with over 200 posts can get told by a guy with less than 10 that a pistol grip with bullet button is legal. but really it is THE most discussed topic on this forum. so, c'mon guys. let's leave the asinine assumptions for DOJ and DA; not calguns members

                      Nice kiss build..on your dust cover question it should just snap closed when you push it and will snap open when you cycle the action...that should be it
