    SAM 7

Anyone know how hard it is the remove the BB on an Arsenal SAM 7? I am looking at buying one today. But I like the option of removing the BB down the road if I take it to AZ. My SGL is a simple hex nut. The BB on the SAM 7 appears to be integrated into the weapon, instead of jus covering the standard mag release.

is it Arsenal's proprietary BB or a solar tactical BB?

if it's Arsenal's BB, you will void the warranty on the rifle if you remove it.

Not sure, just know it's different than the one on my SGL 21. The LGS I am at is not sure what it would take to remove it. It's integrated into the rifle though, not just covering the factory release. Not worried about warranty. I might be moving stuff to AZ down the road, and want options to convert it back to normal.

Doing some research on my phone ( pain in the ***) I believe it's an Arsenal BB. Screw it, I think I am going to buy it and deal with removing it later if I want to. I am sure I can get the parts from Arsenal and put them on out in AZ.

Arsenal's is proprietary or so I have read. Just for you I pulled my SAM 7 out and took a look. It is attached to the receiver with rivets, so you will have to grind them off. The rivet heads inside are very low profile so they won't interfere with the spring, the inside heads are smaller than the outside rivet heads. You may be able to tap the rivet holes but it would only be for a thread or 2 if you used a fine thread. It also may be possible to use nuts depending on your skill level with tools. Not sure that nuts would keep it legal so others can chime in on the legalities.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

^^^ Thanks for the info. I pulled out my SGL when I got home, and it appears I could use the same mag release (without the BB) that it has. It is mounted with the same rivets, and looks identical minus the BB. I went ahead and bought the SAM7 they had. Been wanting one for a while and was not expecting the find one this morning. Was just going to the shop looking for some B-Day presents for my wife.

Turners. They had one in the store, but said they had more in their warehouse. They are heavily stocked on a lot of different rifles right now.
