Nice! I would love to have a rifle in .416 Barret. Too bad there isn't more reloading info on it. I heard the powder was special.

Hell, you can probably use that brass as an umbrella stand...

??????????? Most (non-military) 50BMG bullets are turned solids too.

What's the advantage? I would assume it's produced to tighter tolerances giving it a better ballistic co-efficient, not some terminal effect......or does it spin at some freaky RPM?

BOHICA's offering to chamber their conversion in .416, but I haven't heard of anyone ordering one yet. I might, if I can come up with some extra cash this summer.
Not really a 'special' powder, but only 1 or two similar offerings on the commercial market right now.
The bullets are still kind of proprietary for this particular performance range.
Barrett sells those alone for around 2.00ea!

I can mfg/reload them, but haven't had many requests as yet.

It's kind of an overbore cartridge, and I don't expect that barrel life will be that great.

Yup, ELR cartridges tend to use CNC lathed solids for consistency and very high BC. The Barnes solids are fairly popular with .50 shooters and if you shoot .408 Cheytac you're almost exclusively shooting 419gr solids. The tolerances on those projectiles are so high that you get very delicate sharp points (ie can break skin easily) that you have to be careful when seating and transporting.

And yup, they are pricey, hence the reason I respond to questions about what my Windrunner is chambered for with "it's chambered for $5 bills"
