    Mini-14 with an FAL Brake?

So I sent my baby into the smith about a week ago and was expecting to pick it up yesterday or today. I was just going to get the barrel cut and crowned at 14" and have a Masen Brake perm. attached. But my smith ran into some troubles making the Masen brake fit the larger OD of the heavier part of the barrel and he was saying that it was drifting toward 10 o'clock and wouldnt center.

so after a bit of discussing on the phone hes going to install an FAL brake that hes got laying around and see how that goes because it'll put the OAL back up.

My question for you guys is: what makes the Masen brake good? is it just the weight? because the FAL brake is actually heavier from what I have been seeing on the internet. or is it actually something in the design? and how easy do you think it would be to adapt it if it was too heavy? i mean, its better to have more than less right?

Either way I am excited because she'll be very unique once I do get her back , unless someone would like to burst my bubble and show me some pics of Minis with FAL brakes (which I would actually like to see just to see what it looks like/does )
    Once more into the fray,
Into the last good fight I'll ever know,
Live and die on this day,
Live and die on this day.

Putting a brake on a mini 14 makes it more accurate because of the weight, so the heavier the better. You will be way stoked with the fal brake.
