    BUIS install location

I just received a second hand Wilson Combat flip up rear BUIS (thanks G!) It did not include instructions from the mfgr. Where on the rail should the site be located? I am assuming one would want it back as far as possible to get the longest sight radius possible. Is this a safe assumption or are sights calibrated to a particular location on the rail?

Anyone have a scanned copy of the instructions or have a link to them? Google and the search button don't like my kung fu tonight.

Typically the furthest back slot in your top rail is the best position and the manufacturer recommended position.

Anywhere will work, but farthest apart is best. You will still have to zero them in once you mount them anyway.

Yes, longer sight radius is better, and yes, the MOA adjustment per click will change depending on where it's mounted. Also, the further forward it is, the smaller the circle will appear to you - it will subtend fewer MOA as it gets further away from your eye. Smaller can help accuracy but will slow target acquisition.

As slick_711 said, it's traditional to put them in the rearmost slot. This also conserves rail real estate if you're planning on mounting an optic.

                I am speechless.

More so because that's the exact same type of flooring I have.

Well, yeah, I took that pic at your house when you were away.
LOL -- real, solid red oak. Always a winner.
