Hello Calgunners!
I'm building my first AR-15! I was going to buy one back in December, but was waiting for my next paycheck, and by then all hell broke loose
. Last weekend I saw that RifleGear had an Aero Precision lower for sale for only 95 and decided my first AR-15 would be a build and bought the lower. Since then I have read up a lot about AR-15s and couldn't decide on a carbine or marksman rifle.
After reading up on 7.62x39 ARs, 6.8s and .223, knowing that I don't like high priced unavailable ammo (i'm cheap with ammo, 6.8 is too much at $1 a shot) took 6.8 out of the question. The next thing I knew I did not want was something that has problems, and with all the bad / mixed reviews for x39 ARs I knew that was out of the question, though it does have a lot of cheap ammo! I guess the only viable option is .223/5.56. So I picked up a barrel a few minutes ago:
AR-Stoner 18" stainless steel fluted midlength 1/8 .223 Wylde from midway.
I also picked up some 45 degree canted iron sights for use with my scope that I want to get, ~1-4 or 6 scope. I want to keep it light weight but highly precise.
So that's all I have for now but will update this post as I acquire more things and take pictures!
