I just want to take this time to warn some folks about some of the polymer lowers out there.

While they ARE being made from a mix of recycled Sprite bottles and broken Gen1 Magpul P-mags, these receivers themselves are not recyclable.

Please do not put these in your recycling bins on garbage night
    Also
Please do not confuse the magpul logo as meaning recyclable

Who cares if he adds a one-sentence plug to his company at the end of his otherwise useful and informative post? I'm sure a lot of people were not aware of what's been going on prior to seeing this thread.

There's a lot of people considering buying lowers right now with the upcoming bills in CA. His post was useful regardless of the cookie-cutter quality of his website.

LOL, it wasn't just a 1 sentence plug. The entire original post is written in a way that attempts to cast doubt about forged lowers while assuring readers that his own products do not have the issues he's pointing out. The only thing not promoting his own product and attempting to simply educate consumers is the link to the arfcom thread.

If you read the entire eHow article you would see that they are saying that the magnesium and silicon are the major alloying agent. They could have been a bit more clear, but they are not incorrect. Considering the article is written for the lay reader they should have been more clear.

                From the article:
"The 6061 alloy of aluminum is primarily composed of magnesium and silicon."

                And farther down the page:

"The 7075 alloy is primarily composed of zinc as the alloying agent of the aluminum, as well as higher levels of magnesium and copper than are found in 6061 aluminum."

The information about alloys that was supplied by Palmaris calls the magnesium and silicon "major Constituents". The language seems constant with language I have seen other places regarding alloys.

The following companies also sell parts Type lll hard coat anodized in FDE.

You folks are like a pack of wild dogs out for blood. Don't get me wrong, it was a good read but you all threw out a bunch of negativity on the guy that he didn't deserve.
