Anyone know FIME Group re-manufacturer?

Hey all,

I was looking at some AK 74's and wanted to know if anyone is familiar with the FIME Group or Krebs? I know Arsenal is a kick arses remanufacturer...but wanted to know if anyone knows about either of these guys?

I have not heard of them which worries me a bit if I were to buy. Are they like Century? If so, I would like to stay clear of them.

FIME and Century are basically importers of the various AK style rifles. They do add american made compliant parts to the rifles so they can be sold in US. Krebs is a manufacturer I believe. But he basically takes a basic Ak platform and then upgrades them into real nice rifles. Kreb also makes his own Ak platform parts.

I'm pretty sure I'm correct on above info but don't quote me.

Also there is no need to stay away from Century, they import some decent Aks as well, such as the PAP rifles and Wasr AKs are ok as well.

Fime group is arsenal under a different name. Same company. Same guns. Sgl21, fime or arsenal, are exactly the same. They are fantastic Saiga conversions. Many In Ca are out on them due to their past treatment of Ca customers, and unwillingness to deal with us. Also, many feel the finish they use is rather week and its often referred to as BBQ spray paint. My personal opinion, as a guy who wanted to buy a high quality functional AK pattern rifle that I didn't have to worry about QC issues, and didn't want to build my own, is its about perfect. To me the finish is what it is. Mine hasn't chipped or flaked. If it does oh well. Function is 100%. Sights are straight. Everything works and fits as it should. I did add ironwood designs russian red stained wood furniture to mine, and a Russian POSP scope. I'm not really into AK patten rifles, but wanted just one. I'm glad I chose a fime conversion.

Hopefully more will be along to give their opinions and experiences with them, both good and bad.

as another member said, Arsenal/FIME are the same, but FIME will only do SGL conversions whereas they did SLR before.

Got mine from rifle gear. Them or Atlantic would be my first choices if you can't find one in your LGS. Both companies are very easy to work with.

SGL rifles made in 2009 were made by Legion but that was the last year iirc. the trunnion is marked with an "L" in the SN's prefix.

Legion is a wing of Izmash and there is a Legion USA importer in Hallendale Florida they are not the same .

Can't compare Krebs with arsernal / fime. Krebs puts out some of the best conversions out there and some very nice (expensive) parts.
