Soft case

Looking at two softcases for transporting and storing(for now until I get a case)

the first is the Larue Covert Rifle Case MKIII

Which would you guys choose?

I'm looking for a case that I can store a hadngun in at some point as well as magazine pouches, cleaning gear, optics etc...

Rifle:

- BCM m4 Carbine Mod 2
- Eotech EXPS3-0 (will be on the rifle)
- Eotech Magnifer (will be on the rifle)
- LaRue FUG (Vertical Grip)

I have the Larue case and it's very nice. Cool and all but after awhile it gets old disassembling your rifle every time you want to case it

That was my concern, but in one of the pics it shows a rifle fully assembled in it.

That's an sbr in the pic. No no in ca. You could put an ar pistol in there assembled

I'm betting the La Rue is a better built case. But having to break down my rifle every time would get old...to me.

The Voodoo is a double rifle case. There's plenty of room in them for two rifles, a couple hand guns and some accessories. They're really good value for the money IMO. And I think they're fine for transport from house to car to range. Not sure how they would hold up if you were to actually use the backpack feature and lug a fully loaded case a few miles on a regular basis. To that end, my 5.11 case is a better built case...but more money obviously.

I would do the Voodoo unless the Larue was required for space requirements.

went with the voodoo tactical, I really liked the LaRue however I would much prefer my rifle already assembled in case something happens and I need access to it asap.

I had a Voodoo Tactical bag in 42", was a nice bag but the foam around the edges wasn't very sturdy at all, the bag would not sit upright most of the time. I don't know if that's just the case of the 42" ones or not, but I switched to a Condor 36" bag, and I like it a lot better now (sits sturdy upright, backpack straps can be hidden in the back of the bag too.

Canceled the Voodoo Tactical, thinking of going with the LaRue now, I just wish the LaRue was long so I can have a rifle assembled in it and not have to break it down.

I think I might just go with an inexpensive soft case.

Honestly, I just use cheap soft bags from Big 5 or something similar. If you've a bunch of cash to throw around, then buy whatever the hell you like, but most of us (including myself) aren't made of money. And when you think about it, it's a freakin' bag. Some people will spend several hundreds on a shooting bag with MOLLE features on it. Stupid. I spent $10 on a HUGE tennis bag from Play-It-Again Sports and it carries way more than most of those $400 tacticool BAGS.

Now a chest rig, that's a bit different since you actually wear it. I'm actually looking to replace my old-school milsurp AK chest rig with something more modern. Definitely something MOLLE for that.

keep an eye on the classified section....I just pickeed up a 5.11 rifle bag from ar15 for 80 bucks. Before that I was gonna get a voodoo case, something nice to hold my handgun and rifle.
