    question about selling rifle wife bought

    hey guys I got a quick question. I am selling a rifle that my wife bought me. Does she have to do the ppt or can I since I am her husband?

      Yes you can, your wife gave it to you, no paperwork was required for that, so the firearm is yours and you can sell it.

      FYI since it is a long gun its not in anybody's name anyways and during a private party transfer the owner of the firearm is not checked the only thing that is check is if the firearm is stolen and if the buyer is prohibitedthat's just a little information for you not telling you it it's okay for you to sell other people's guns.

        Rifles ARE NOT registered by name, so you can sell it as long as your wife isn't going to claim you stole it from her.
