    80%er question

    Hey guys,

I have a question about 80% lowers. I am asking because I cant find info on it. If i buy two 80% lowers now, can I finish them next year if the crazy laws pass? It may be a stupid question but I would like to know because I may have to do this.

If the law passes, there is a law already going into effect 2014. Registration of long guns. Finished the build before 2014. My money is on that they won't pass but thats just me being optimistic that law makers will see facts over emotional actions.

If You mean the semi auto ban, if u are looking to complete a semi auto rifle with the 80% there is usually a window for registration before the law passes and u would need to complete it before then and serialize it and register.

I would like an answer from reliable source for same reason. I am waiting for 80% lowers to arrive. Librarian usually has most accurate info.

One of the perks of going the 80% route is it doesn't have a serial number or require registration. There's a ton of new laws in the works so maybe my answer isn't correct, but as it stands now it's totally legal unless you try to sell them when they become 100% lowers.

And if you actually do finish the lower yourself, it's somewhat difficult to prove when you started machining and when the lower was actually completed.

If it were mine, I'd finish it before the end of the year.
