    SKS Question

Is it legal to bring a Chinese SKS (so no grenade launcher) into California that has the spike bayonet and bayonet lug attached to the weapon? Thanks in advance for the help.

As long as it has a fixed magazine. SKS's with detachable mags are felonies unless they were registered during the last grace period.

It's fine. The SKS looks funny without the bayonet anyways.

Yes, it has a fixed magazine. Are you guys 100% sure I can't get in trouble for having it with the bayonet attached?

Just keep it in its original configuration and you will be fine. BTW, you can doubt me but don't ever doubt frank.

Go through the Calguns checklist. then look at the sks's in our for sale forum here to compare to yours. Then you can be satisfied. P.S. Bayonets don't matter.

Thanks guys. I was just really worried about it, I don't like to mess with the law when it comes to firearms.

Huh. Well yeah, I see a bunch of people selling them with bayonets attached. Where does all the confusion with the laws against bayonets come from if nobody is afraid of having the bayonet on the gun?

I think the confusion is just from misinformation. If you're still not sure, post a pic here.

I bought one on gunbroker a couple of weeks ago. Took me a few tries to find an FFL to do it with the bayonet. Some FFL's are either ignorant of the law, or use it as an excuse to not do the transfer.
