    Extractor spring problem

Hi guys, I was swapping out my old Colt extractor spring which had the blue buffer for the new copper colored spring and black buffer. The old blue seemed to just pop out of the extractor but I am having lots of difficulty getting the new spring and buffer to seat properly and stay in place. I have looked for youtube vids showing some tricks to remedy this with no luck.

    Any suggestions is greatly appreciated....thanks

If I remember correctly I had to turn the spring counter clockwise (to compress the OD) while pushing it into the extractor and it clicked in.

Then I lined it up on the bolt carrier and squeezed it with a small pair of channellocks to line it up and slid the pin in.

Thanks I tried pushing in hard and turning clockwise and counter too but could not get this darn little thing to click in. Saw a post online that said to turn it over spring side down and push it against a hard object like a table till it snaps in place. I may try this when I get home.
